Psalms 126

Every verse links to the people and places named in it, and to the passages readers connect it with.

The chapter

What happens here

Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.

The captives of Zion are restored, and then the song asks for their restoration again—an abrupt turn from dreamers to streams in the Negev.

Restored like dreamersvv. 1–3

The song begins with the LORD restoring the captives of Zion, leaving the people as astonished as dreamers. Laughter fills their mouths, joy their tongues, and even the nations say that the LORD has done great things for them. The people answer that the LORD has done great things for them, and that they are filled with joy.

The second restorationv. 4

Then, with no explanation for the change, the song asks the LORD to restore the captives again, this time like streams in the Negev. Celebration has acquired a petition, and the desert has been invited to provide the picture.

A trail of seedvv. 5–6

The final image turns tears into seed. Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy; the weeping sower goes out bearing a trail of seed and returns carrying sheaves of grain. Agriculture, here, keeps a remarkably cheerful appointment book.

Who else the chapter reaches

Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.

Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.
