What happens here

Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.

Bildad's wicked man is not simply killed: the firstborn of death eats his limbs, and he is marched off to the king of terrors.

A quarrel over sensevv. 1–4

Bildad begins by asking how long the speeches will continue, and whether Job might show some sense before they talk. He objects to being treated as cattle, then turns Job's anger into a question about the very furniture of creation: should the earth be forsaken for one man's sake, or the rocks moved from their place?

The wicked man's astonishing itineraryvv. 5–21

Bildad then describes the wicked man's undoing in a remarkably well-stocked catalogue of traps. His lamp goes out, his feet find nets, a noose waits in the ground, terrors harry every step, and calamity stands ready at his side. The punishment grows grander as it proceeds: skin is devoured by the firstborn of death, the man is marched from his tent to the king of terrors, fire and burning sulfur occupy his dwelling, and his roots and branches wither. His name disappears, yet the west is appalled and the east trembles; the final picture is a dwelling and a place belonging to the wicked man who does not know God.

Who else the chapter reaches

Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.

Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
