Ezekiel 2

Every verse links to the people and places named in it, and to the passages readers connect it with.

The chapter

What happens here

Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.

The command to eat arrives before the meal: a hand presents a scroll, unrolls it, and reveals both sides covered with lamentation, mourning, and woe, but the chapter stops there.

Sent among the rebelliousvv. 1–8

The Lord GOD tells the prophet to stand, and the Spirit obliges by setting him on his feet. He is sent to Israel, a nation that has rebelled through its generations, with the wonderfully severe instruction to speak whether anyone listens or not. The surroundings are equally severe: briers, thorns, and scorpions make up the neighbourhood, though the prophet is told not to fear them. Then comes the curious matter of the meal: he must not become rebellious like the rebellious house, but must open his mouth and eat what is given.

The scroll before the mealvv. 9–10

Instead of an account of eating, the prophet sees a hand reaching out with a scroll. It is unrolled before him and written on the front and back—an unusually thorough arrangement for a document whose contents are lamentation, mourning, and woe. The chapter ends with the scroll displayed, not consumed; the promised eating has not yet happened in these verses.

  7. Ezek 2:7But speak My words to them, whether they listen or refuse to listen, for they are rebellious.

Who else the chapter reaches

Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.

Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.

Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
