Description

Salim in the text

In the words of STEPBible TIPNR:

Salim is mentioned in the Gospel of John as a place near Aenon where John the Baptist was baptizing people. The text notes that John chose this location because there was plenty of water available (Jhn.3.23). The exact location of Salim is uncertain, but it was likely situated somewhere in the Jordan Valley, possibly near the Jordan River or one of its tributaries. Some scholars suggest that Salim may be identified with the modern-day village of Ain Salim, located east of Nablus in the West Bank, while others propose alternative locations. The proximity to water was essential for John's baptismal ministry, as it allowed for full immersion of those who came to be baptized.

The pattern

Where Salim is named

Every book of the corpus in the order it is read, each as wide as the chapters it holds. A bar is the verses of that book which write the name, and the flat stretches are as much of the answer as the bars.

1 verse across 1 of 66 books; 65 write the name nowhere. Named in John (1).

Salim is named in 1 verse — occurrences of the name in the Hebrew or Greek, counted in the versification of the Berean Standard Bible (v5.7). Every book of the corpus is drawn, its width its share of the 1,189 chapters. 65 of the 66 books never write it. A verse that tells of this subject without writing the name is not counted here.
