Shalishah was a region Saul and his servant passed through while searching for his father's lost donkeys (1Sam. 9:4).

The coastline is a modern one, simplified; no border, road or settlement of any period is drawn, and no line joins two points, because the rows state where and not in what order.Shalishah

Description

Shalishah in the text

In the words of STEPBible TIPNR:

Shalishah is mentioned briefly in the account of Saul's search for his father's lost donkeys (1Sam. 9:4). Saul and his servant passed through the hill country of Ephraim and the land of Shalishah but did not find the donkeys. They then continued through the land of Shaalim and the land of Benjamin, still without success. The exact location of Shalishah is unknown, but it was likely situated in the central hill country of Israel, north of Jerusalem. The name "Shalishah" may be derived from the Hebrew word "shalosh," meaning "three," possibly indicating a region known for its three hills or valleys. The mention of Shalishah in this narrative serves to highlight the extent of Saul's search and the various regions he traversed before encountering the prophet Samuel, who would anoint him as the first king of Israel.

The pattern

Where Shalishah is named

Every book of the corpus in the order it is read, each as wide as the chapters it holds. A bar is the verses of that book which write the name, and the flat stretches are as much of the answer as the bars.

1 verse across 1 of 66 books; 65 write the name nowhere. Named in 1 Samuel (1).

Shalishah is named in 1 verse — occurrences of the name in the Hebrew or Greek, counted in the versification of the Berean Standard Bible (v5.7). Every book of the corpus is drawn, its width its share of the 1,189 chapters. 65 of the 66 books never write it. A verse that tells of this subject without writing the name is not counted here.
