Description

Shaveh in the text

In the words of STEPBible TIPNR:

Shaveh Kiriathaim is mentioned in the context of the military campaigns of Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and his allies (Gen. 14:5, 17). The name "Shaveh Kiriathaim" means "the plain of Kiriathaim," indicating its proximity to the city of Kiriathaim. In the course of their conquests, Chedorlaomer and his confederates defeated the Emites, a group of giants, in Shaveh Kiriathaim. This event took place before the battle against the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Valley of Siddim. The exact location of Shaveh Kiriathaim is uncertain, but it was likely situated in the region east of the Dead Sea, in what would later become the territory of Moab. The mention of Shaveh Kiriathaim in the context of these ancient battles highlights the geopolitical landscape of the region during the time of Abraham and the power struggles among the various kingdoms and peoples of the ancient Near East.

Relations

Direct connections

Every entity the graph places in a stated relation with this one, grouped by the kind of link. Each relation is authored once and its inverse derived, so both ends always agree. Rows marked “registry” come from the identity spine rather than from a verse, and a row marked “which bearer is the source’s decision” is one where the name could have meant more than one person. The last group is not a relation at all — it counts the events two entities stand in together.

2 verses across 1 of 66 books; 65 write the name nowhere. Named in Genesis (2).

Shaveh is named in 2 verses, and the name is written 4 times in them — occurrences of the name in the Hebrew or Greek, counted in the versification of the Berean Standard Bible (v5.7). Every book of the corpus is drawn, its width its share of the 1,189 chapters. 65 of the 66 books never write it. A verse that tells of this subject without writing the name is not counted here.
