Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
The sanctuary’s morning begins with a night watch, a loaf, and a pinch of spice: the gatekeepers guard the house through the dark, then open it, while priests mix spices and a Levite bakes bread.
Those who came back to their citiesvv. 1–16
After Judah’s exile to Babylon, the first settlers to reclaim their own property were Israelites, priests, Levites, and temple servants. Jerusalem received descendants of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh, with their family lines carefully laid out: Uthai descends through Ammihud, Omri, and Imri to Perez; Asaiah appears among the Shilonites; and the Benjamites arrive in a satisfyingly large family procession, numbering 956 relatives. The priests and Levites are then listed in their turn, including Shemaiah and Mattaniah, while Berechiah is noted as living in the villages of the Netophathites.
The house that must be opened each morningvv. 17–34
The chapter now turns from who lived in Jerusalem to who kept the house of God running. Shallum led the gatekeepers, whose families guarded the thresholds of the Tent as their fathers had done before them; 212 had been appointed to this work, stationed on all four sides, with relatives arriving from the villages in seven-day periods. The chief gatekeepers watched the rooms and treasuries and spent the night around the house so that it could be opened each morning. Others counted the worship articles, tended the furnishings, measured out flour, wine, oil, frankincense, and spices, and prepared the bread. Mattithiah baked it; some of the priests mixed the spices; the musicians, exempt from other duties because they served day and night, remained in the temple chambers. A wonderfully crowded household, where even the cupboards have their genealogy.
The long Benjaminite threadvv. 35–44
At the end comes another family record, beginning with Jeiel in Gibeon and running through Ner, Kish, and Saul. Saul’s sons include Jonathan, and Jonathan’s son is Merib-baal, whose son Micah leads to Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz. The line continues through Jarah, Zimri, Moza, and Binea, ending with Azel and his six sons. The chapter closes not with a trumpet but with six names neatly put away: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan.

1 Chr 9:1So all Israel was recorded in the genealogies written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. But Judah was exiled to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.
1 Chr 9:2Now the first to resettle their own property in their cities were Israelites, priests, Levites, and temple servants.
1 Chr 9:3Some of the descendants of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh lived in Jerusalem:
1 Chr 9:4Uthai son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, a descendant of Perez son of Judah.
1 Chr 9:5From the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.
1 Chr 9:7From the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;
1 Chr 9:8Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; Meshullam son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
1 Chr 9:9and 956 of their relatives according to their genealogy. All these men were heads of their families.

1 Chr 9:13and 1,760 of their relatives, the heads of their families, able men for the work of the service of the house of God.
1 Chr 9:14From the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, a descendant of Merari;

1 Chr 9:17These were the gatekeepers: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their relatives. Shallum was their chief;
1 Chr 9:18he was previously stationed at the King’s Gate on the east side. These were the gatekeepers from the camp of the Levites.
1 Chr 9:19Shallum son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives from the Korahites were assigned to guard the thresholds of the Tent, just as their fathers had been assigned to guard the entrance to the dwelling of the LORD.

1 Chr 9:21Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
1 Chr 9:22The number of those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds was 212. They were registered by genealogy in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed them to their positions of trust.
1 Chr 9:23So they and their descendants were assigned to guard the gates of the house of the LORD—the house called the Tent.
1 Chr 9:24The gatekeepers were stationed on the four sides: east, west, north, and south.
1 Chr 9:25Their relatives came from their villages at fixed times to serve with them for seven-day periods.
1 Chr 9:26But the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the rooms and the treasuries of the house of God.
1 Chr 9:27They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they were responsible for guarding it and opening it every morning.
1 Chr 9:28Some of them were in charge of the articles used in worship, to count them whenever they were brought in or taken out.
1 Chr 9:29Others were put in charge of the furnishings and other articles of the sanctuary, as well as the fine flour, wine, oil, frankincense, and spices.

1 Chr 9:31A Levite named Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with baking the bread.
1 Chr 9:32Some of their Kohathite relatives were responsible for preparing the rows of the showbread every Sabbath.
1 Chr 9:33Those who were musicians, the heads of Levite families, stayed in the temple chambers and were exempt from other duties because they were on duty day and night.
1 Chr 9:34All these were heads of Levite families, chiefs according to their genealogies, and they lived in Jerusalem.
1 Chr 9:35Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon. His wife’s name was Maacah.
1 Chr 9:36Abdon was his firstborn son, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
1 Chr 9:37Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.
1 Chr 9:38Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They too lived alongside their relatives in Jerusalem.
1 Chr 9:39Ner was the father of Kish, Kish was the father of Saul, and Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.
1 Chr 9:40The son of Jonathan: Merib-baal, who was the father of Micah.
1 Chr 9:41The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.
1 Chr 9:42Ahaz was the father of Jarah; Jarah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri was the father of Moza.

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.

Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
