What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
Joshua turns fulfilled promise into a rather formidable measuring stick: if every good word has come true, then the threatened calamity is not wandering about as a mere possibility either.
The old commander gathers Israelvv. 1–5
After a long rest from surrounding enemies, Joshua—old and well along in years—summons all Israel, with its elders, leaders, judges, and officers. He points to what they have seen: the LORD fought for them, allotted the land from the Jordan westward to the Great Sea, and will still drive out the nations remaining in their way.
Hold fast, and mind the snarevv. 6–13
Joshua's charge is brisk and exact: keep the Book of the Law, do not turn aside, and do not mingle devotion to the LORD with the names, service, or bowing of other gods. The proportions then become gloriously startling—one Israelite can put a thousand to flight—before the speech narrows to its danger. Turning away, intermarrying, and clinging to the remaining nations will turn those nations into a snare, a trap, a scourge in the sides, and thorns in the eyes.
The promise cuts both waysvv. 14–16
Joshua announces that he is going the way of all the earth, then lays the whole argument on the table: not one good promise has failed. Precisely so, the calamity threatened will arrive as surely as the good has arrived. The final scene is covenant transgression, other gods, burning anger, and a swift perishing from the good land.

Josh 23:1A long time after the LORD had given Israel rest from all the enemies around them, when Joshua was old and well along in years,
Josh 23:2he summoned all Israel, including its elders, leaders, judges, and officers. “I am old and well along in years,” he said,
Josh 23:3“and you have seen everything that the LORD your God has done to all these nations for your sake, because it was the LORD your God who fought for you.
Josh 23:4See, I have allotted as an inheritance to your tribes these remaining nations, including all the nations I have already cut off, from the Jordan westward to the Great Sea.
Josh 23:5The LORD your God will push them out of your way and drive them out before you, so that you can take possession of their land, as the LORD your God promised you.
Josh 23:6Be very strong, then, so that you can keep and obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, not turning aside from it to the right or to the left.
Josh 23:7So you are not to associate with these nations that remain among you. You must not call on the names of their gods or swear by them, and you must not serve them or bow down to them.
Josh 23:8Instead, you shall hold fast to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.
Josh 23:9The LORD has driven out great and powerful nations before you, and to this day no one can stand against you.
Josh 23:10One of you can put a thousand to flight, because the LORD your God fights for you, just as He promised.
Josh 23:11Therefore watch yourselves carefully, that you love the LORD your God.
Josh 23:12For if you turn away and cling to the rest of these nations that remain among you, and if you intermarry and associate with them,
Josh 23:13know for sure that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations before you. Instead, they will become for you a snare and a trap, a scourge in your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land that the LORD your God has given you.
Josh 23:14Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know with all your heart and soul that not one of the good promises the LORD your God made to you has failed. Everything was fulfilled for you; not one promise has failed.
Josh 23:15But just as every good thing the LORD your God promised you has come to pass, likewise the LORD will bring upon you the calamity He has threatened, until He has destroyed you from this good land He has given you.
Josh 23:16If you transgress the covenant of the LORD your God, which He commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from this good land He has given you.”

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.
Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
