What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
Ten lepers are cleansed on the road, but only one turns back—and the one who returns is a Samaritan, leaving Jesus to ask where the other nine have got to.
A tree, a servant, and no medalvv. 1–10
Jesus begins with stumbling blocks, millstones, repeated forgiveness, and a faith so small it can order a mulberry tree into the sea. The apostles ask for more faith; Jesus answers with a mustard seed. Then comes the servant, who ploughs or shepherds, prepares the meal, serves it, and receives no ceremonial trumpet—only the plain declaration that he has done his duty.
The tenth man turns roundvv. 11–19
On the way toward Jerusalem, between Samaria and Galilee, Jesus meets ten lepers standing at a distance and shouting for mercy. He sends them to show themselves to the priests, and as they go, they are cleansed. One sees what has happened, comes back praising God loudly, falls at Jesus’ feet, and is identified as a Samaritan. Jesus notices the empty procession behind him: all ten were cleansed, but only this foreigner returned.
The day that flashes across the skyvv. 20–37
Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God will come, Jesus refuses the sort of answer that points to a spot on the map: it will not arrive with observable signs, for the kingdom of God is in their midst. He then speaks to the disciples of longing, misleading cries of “here” and “there,” lightning from one end of the sky to the other, and the Son of Man suffering before his day. Noah and Lot appear in the comparison: ordinary eating, drinking, marrying, buying, selling, planting, and building continue right up to the moment destruction arrives. There is no time to fetch possessions, and one small sentence is set apart for Lot’s wife. The disciples ask where; Jesus answers with a carcass and gathering vultures, which is not a diagram one forgets quickly.

Luke 17:1Jesus said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks will come, but woe to the one through whom they come!
Luke 17:2It would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Luke 17:3Watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
Luke 17:4Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to say, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
Luke 17:5The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
Luke 17:6And the Lord answered, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.
Luke 17:7Which of you whose servant comes in from plowing or shepherding in the field will say to him, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?
Luke 17:8Instead, won’t he tell him, ‘Prepare my meal and dress yourself to serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you may eat and drink’?
Luke 17:9Does he thank the servant because he did what he was told?
Luke 17:10So you also, when you have done everything commanded of you, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”
Luke 17:11While Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem, He was passing between Samaria and Galilee.
Luke 17:12As He entered one of the villages, He was met by ten lepers. They stood at a distance
Luke 17:13and raised their voices, shouting, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
Luke 17:14When Jesus saw them, He said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they were on their way, they were cleansed.
Luke 17:15When one of them saw that he was healed, he came back, praising God in a loud voice.
Luke 17:16He fell facedown at Jesus’ feet in thanksgiving to Him—and he was a Samaritan.
Luke 17:17“Were not all ten cleansed?” Jesus asked. “Where then are the other nine?
Luke 17:18Was no one found except this foreigner to return and give glory to God?”
Luke 17:19Then Jesus said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well!”
Luke 17:20When asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God will not come with observable signs.
Luke 17:21Nor will people say, ‘Look, here it is,’ or ‘There it is.’ For you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
Luke 17:22Then He said to the disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
Luke 17:23People will tell you, ‘Look, there He is!’ or ‘Look, here He is!’ Do not go out or chase after them.
Luke 17:24For just as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so will be the Son of Man in His day.
Luke 17:25But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
Luke 17:26Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man:
Luke 17:27People were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:28It was the same in the days of Lot: People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.
Luke 17:29But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:30It will be just like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
Luke 17:31On that day, let no one on the housetop come down to retrieve his possessions. Likewise, let no one in the field return for anything he has left behind.
Luke 17:32Remember Lot’s wife!
Luke 17:33Whoever tries to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.
Luke 17:34I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed: one will be taken and the other left.
Luke 17:35Two women will be grinding grain together: one will be taken and the other left.”
Luke 17:37“Where, Lord?” they asked. Jesus answered, “Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.”

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.
Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
