Every verse links to the people and places named in it, and to the passages readers connect it with.
The chapter
What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
The commandments are given an oddly practical life: tied to hands, bound to foreheads, and written on the doorposts and gates, as though the house itself might otherwise forget.
Words with a household lifevv. 1–9
The speech begins with Israel hearing, loving, and keeping the LORD’s words, then gives those words work to do in ordinary hours: teaching children at home, on the road, at bedtime, and at rising. They are not left floating in the air; they are tied, bound, and written into the entrances of houses and cities.
The danger of arriving comfortablyvv. 10–19
The promised land arrives furnished. Its cities were not built by Israel, its houses were not filled by Israel, its wells were not dug by Israel, and its vineyards and olive groves were not planted by Israel. The peculiar danger is not hunger but satisfaction: once the cupboards are full and the land is yielding, Egypt must not vanish from memory. The warning then turns toward other gods, the LORD’s jealousy, and the old episode at Massah.
The answer prepared for a sonvv. 20–25
A son asks what all these decrees, statutes, and ordinances mean. The answer begins not with an abstract definition but with slavery in Egypt, Pharaoh, signs and wonders, and the mighty hand that brought Israel out. It ends with the land promised to the fathers and with careful observance described as righteousness—a family explanation in which the commandments come trailing the whole astonishing history.

Deut 6:1These are the commandments and statutes and ordinances that the LORD your God has instructed me to teach you to follow in the land that you are about to enter and possess,
Deut 6:2so that you and your children and grandchildren may fear the LORD your God all the days of your lives by keeping all His statutes and commandments that I give you, and so that your days may be prolonged.
Deut 6:3Hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe them, so that you may prosper and multiply greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
Deut 6:5And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Deut 6:6These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts.
Deut 6:7And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Deut 6:8Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
Deut 6:9Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
Deut 6:10And when the LORD your God brings you into the land He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that He would give you—a land with great and splendid cities that you did not build,
Deut 6:11with houses full of every good thing with which you did not fill them, with wells that you did not dig, and with vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant—and when you eat and are satisfied,
Deut 6:12be careful not to forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
Deut 6:13Fear the LORD your God, serve Him only, and take your oaths in His name.
Deut 6:14Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you.
Deut 6:15For the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God. Otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth.
Deut 6:16Do not test the LORD your God as you tested Him at Massah.
Deut 6:17You are to diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God and the testimonies and statutes He has given you.
Deut 6:18Do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, so that it may be well with you and that you may enter and possess the good land that the LORD your God swore to give your fathers,
Deut 6:19driving out all your enemies before you, as the LORD has said.
Deut 6:20In the future, when your son asks, “What is the meaning of the decrees and statutes and ordinances that the LORD our God has commanded you?”
Deut 6:21then you are to tell him, “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
Deut 6:22Before our eyes the LORD inflicted great and devastating signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his household.
Deut 6:23But He brought us out from there to lead us in and give us the land that He had sworn to our fathers.
Deut 6:24And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God, that we may always be prosperous and preserved, as we are to this day.
Deut 6:25And if we are careful to observe every one of these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us, then that will be our righteousness.”

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
