Description

Zalmonah in the text

In the words of STEPBible TIPNR:

Zalmonah was one of the places where the Israelites camped during their wilderness journey after leaving Egypt. It is mentioned in Numbers 33:41-42 as part of the itinerary recorded in the Book of Numbers. The Israelites arrived at Zalmonah after departing from Mount Hor and before moving on to Punon. The exact location of Zalmonah is unknown, but it was situated somewhere between Mount Hor, where Aaron died (Num. 20:22-29), and Punon, another campsite mentioned only in the itinerary. No other details about Zalmonah are provided in the Bible, and the site is not mentioned in any other context. The inclusion of Zalmonah in the list of Israel's campsites highlights the detailed record-keeping of the Israelites' journey through the wilderness and their numerous stops along the way.

The pattern

Where Zalmonah is named

Every book of the corpus in the order it is read, each as wide as the chapters it holds. A bar is the verses of that book which write the name, and the flat stretches are as much of the answer as the bars.

2 verses across 1 of 66 books; 65 write the name nowhere. Named in Numbers (2).

Zalmonah is named in 2 verses — occurrences of the name in the Hebrew or Greek, counted in the versification of the Berean Standard Bible (v5.7). Every book of the corpus is drawn, its width its share of the 1,189 chapters. 65 of the 66 books never write it. A verse that tells of this subject without writing the name is not counted here.
