The chapter
What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
A man asks whether anyone would ask to be swallowed up, and the chapter leaves the swallowing entirely mysterious.
Thunder, weather, and the sealed handvv. 1–13
The speaker’s heart pounds at the thunder, while lightning runs beneath the whole sky and reaches the ends of the earth. Snow falls, rain pours, wild animals retreat to their lairs, ice forms by the breath of God, and clouds whirl about at His direction. Then comes the curious sealing: every man’s hand is closed so that all may know His work, though the chapter does not say what the sealing is. The same weather may be for punishment or for the land, and is accomplished in loving devotion—a remarkably large range of duties for one storm.
The questions turn toward Jobvv. 14–24
The voice now addresses Job and asks whether he knows how clouds are dispatched, lightning made to flash, and clouds made to float. The grandeur briefly makes room for hot clothes beneath a still south wind, before the questions rise again to the skies, imagined as strong as a mirror of bronze. The speaker asks for words, then wonders whether a man would ask to be swallowed up; no reason for that swallowing is supplied. At last the sun is too bright to gaze upon, the north comes in golden splendor, and the Almighty remains beyond reach, exalted in power and not oppressive in justice. Men fear Him because He is not partial to the wise in heart.

Job 37:1“At this my heart also pounds and leaps from its place.
Job 37:2Listen closely to the thunder of His voice and the rumbling that comes from His mouth.
Job 37:3He unleashes His lightning beneath the whole sky and sends it to the ends of the earth.
Job 37:4Then there comes a roaring sound; He thunders with His majestic voice. He does not restrain the lightning when His voice resounds.
Job 37:5God thunders wondrously with His voice; He does great things we cannot comprehend.
Job 37:6For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the gentle rain, ‘Pour out a mighty downpour.’
Job 37:7He seals up the hand of every man, so that all men may know His work.
Job 37:8The wild animals enter their lairs; they settle down in their dens.
Job 37:9The tempest comes from its chamber, and the cold from the driving north winds.
Job 37:10By the breath of God the ice is formed and the watery expanses are frozen.
Job 37:11He loads the clouds with moisture; He scatters His lightning through them.
Job 37:12They swirl about, whirling at His direction, accomplishing all that He commands over the face of all the earth.
Job 37:13Whether for punishment or for His land, He accomplishes this in His loving devotion.
Job 37:14Listen to this, O Job; stand still and consider the wonders of God.
Job 37:15Do you know how God dispatches the clouds or makes the lightning flash?
Job 37:16Do you understand how the clouds float, those wonders of Him who is perfect in knowledge?
Job 37:17You whose clothes get hot when the land lies hushed under the south wind,
Job 37:18can you, like Him, spread out the skies, as strong as a mirror of bronze?
Job 37:19Teach us what we should say to Him; we cannot draw up our case because of our darkness.
Job 37:20Should He be told that I want to speak? Would a man ask to be swallowed up?
Job 37:21Now no one can gaze at the sun when it is bright in the skies after the wind has swept them clean.
Job 37:22Out of the north He comes in golden splendor; awesome majesty surrounds Him.
Job 37:23The Almighty is beyond our reach; He is exalted in power! In His justice and great righteousness He does not oppress.
Job 37:24Therefore, men fear Him, for He is not partial to the wise in heart.”

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
