Every verse links to the people and places named in it, and to the passages readers connect it with.

What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
At eighty-five, Caleb asks for the country occupied by the Anakim and their fortified cities, remarking that his strength has apparently declined not at all.
The land is dividedvv. 1–5
The inheritance of Canaan is distributed at Gilgal by Eleazar, Joshua, and the tribal heads. Lots settle the portions of the nine and a half tribes; Moses had already assigned land east of the Jordan to the other two and a half. The Levites receive no ordinary territory, only cities and pasturelands, while Joseph’s descendants are counted as two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. A careful arrangement, then, with the Levites given somewhere to keep the cattle rather than somewhere to plant a flag.
Caleb chooses the difficult hillvv. 6–15
At Gilgal, Caleb son of Jephunneh reminds Joshua of the first expedition from Kadesh-barnea, when Caleb brought back an honest report while the other spies made the people afraid. Forty-five years have passed, and Caleb is now eighty-five; nevertheless, he declares himself as strong as when Moses sent him out. His request is not for an easy corner but for the hill country where the Anakim live in great fortified cities. Joshua gives him Hebron. The chapter then pauses to explain that Hebron was once called Kiriath-arba, after Arba, the greatest of the Anakim—a remarkably precise label for a place just handed to an elderly man who has asked for trouble by name.

Josh 14:1Now these are the portions that the Israelites inherited in the land of Canaan, as distributed by Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the families of the tribes of Israel.
Josh 14:2Their inheritance was assigned by lot for the nine and a half tribes, as the LORD had commanded through Moses.
Josh 14:3For Moses had given the inheritance east of the Jordan to the other two and a half tribes. But he granted no inheritance among them to the Levites.
Josh 14:4The descendants of Joseph became two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. And no portion of the land was given to the Levites, except for cities in which to live, along with pasturelands for their flocks and herds.
Josh 14:5So the Israelites did as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they divided the land.
Josh 14:6Then the sons of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh-barnea about you and me.
Josh 14:7I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back to him an honest report.
Josh 14:8Although my brothers who went with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear, I remained loyal to the LORD my God.
Josh 14:9On that day Moses swore to me, saying, ‘Surely the land on which you have set foot will be an inheritance to you and your children forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’
Josh 14:10Now behold, as the LORD promised, He has kept me alive these forty-five years since He spoke this word to Moses, while Israel wandered in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old,
Josh 14:11still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me out. As my strength was then, so it is now for war, for going out, and for coming in.
Josh 14:12Now therefore give me this hill country that the LORD promised me on that day, for you yourself heard then that the Anakim were there, with great and fortified cities. Perhaps with the LORD’s help I will drive them out, as the LORD has spoken.”
Josh 14:13Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance.
Josh 14:14Therefore Hebron belongs to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite as an inheritance to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD, the God of Israel.
Josh 14:15(Hebron used to be called Kiriath-arba, after Arba, the greatest man among the Anakim.) Then the land had rest from war.

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.
Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
