What happens here

Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.

A grain offering is divided with almost comical precision: a memorial handful, all the frankincense, and the rest for Aaron’s sons; even the salt is a matter of covenant.

Flour, oil, and the priest’s handfulvv. 1–10

The offering begins as fine flour with olive oil and frankincense, brought to Aaron’s sons the priests. A priest takes a handful of flour and oil, burns it with all the frankincense, and the remainder belongs to Aaron and his sons. Whether baked in an oven, prepared on a griddle, or cooked in a pan, the arrangement remains pleasingly exact: the memorial portion goes to the altar, and the rest becomes most holy food for the priests.

No leaven, no honey, but salt without failvv. 11–13

Leaven and honey are refused from the altar, though they may still be brought as firstfruits, a distinction the chapter leaves standing without explanation. Salt, by contrast, is required in every grain offering and receives the grand title “the salt of the covenant of your God.” The pantry has acquired a small theology of its own.

The firstfruits of new grainvv. 14–16

The firstfruits offering is made from crushed heads of new grain roasted on the fire, with oil and frankincense added. The priest burns its memorial portion with all the frankincense, and the chapter closes with the familiar little portion ascending to the LORD.
