What happens here

Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.

A storm makes seasoned sailors useless, and the silence after it is enough to make them rejoice.

Four cries from distressvv. 1–32

The redeemed are gathered from every direction, but their troubles arrive in several rather different costumes. Wanderers lose the road and grow faint with hunger; prisoners sit in darkness because they rebelled; fools loathe food and draw near death; sailors, conducting trade on the mighty waters, discover that all their skill has become decorative. Each group cries out in trouble, and each is delivered. The sailors receive the most beautifully quiet ending: the storm falls to a whisper, the waves are hushed, and the harbor appears as the desired destination. The repeated summons to thanksgiving gathers these rescues into one great chorus, with sacrifices, rejoicing, the assembly of the people, and the council of the elders.

The world turned upside downvv. 33–43

The LORD now rearranges landscapes with startling efficiency: rivers become deserts, springs become thirsty ground, and fruitful land becomes salt because of wickedness. Then the reversal comes—desert becomes pools, dry land becomes springs, and the hungry settle there, sowing fields and planting vineyards. Their numbers and herds increase, though oppression, evil, and sorrow can reduce them again. Even then, the needy are lifted and their families multiply like flocks. The upright rejoice, while iniquity, having been given a mouth for one splendid moment, shuts it.

Who else the chapter reaches

Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.

Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
