Description

Pisidia in the text

In the words of STEPBible TIPNR:

Pisidia was an ancient region located in the central part of Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey), north of Pamphylia and Lycia. It is mentioned in the New Testament in connection with Paul's first missionary journey (Act.13.14; 14:24). Paul and Barnabas traveled to Antioch in Pisidia, where they preached in the synagogue on the Sabbath (Act.13.14-41). Many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, but the jealous Jewish leaders stirred up persecution against them, forcing them to leave the city (Act.13.42-52). Despite the opposition, the word of the Lord spread throughout the whole region (Act.13.49). On their return journey, Paul and Barnabas passed through Pisidia again, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain faithful (Act.14.21-23). The mention of Pisidia in the book of Acts highlights the spread of the gospel in Asia Minor and the challenges faced by early Christian missionaries.

Where Pisidia is named

Every book of the corpus in the order it is read, each as wide as the chapters it holds. A bar is the verses of that book which write the name, and the flat stretches are as much of the answer as the bars.

Pisidia is named in 2 verses — occurrences of the name in the Hebrew or Greek, counted in the versification of the Berean Standard Bible (v5.7). Every book of the corpus is drawn, its width its share of the 1,189 chapters. 65 of the 66 books never write it. A verse that tells of this subject without writing the name is not counted here.
