The chapter
What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
They call Jeremiah a liar for forbidding Egypt, then carry Jeremiah, Baruch, and the whole remnant into Egypt anyway—where the first thing Jeremiah is told to do is bury stones beneath Pharaoh’s palace pavement.
The journey they were told not to makevv. 1–7
Jeremiah finishes delivering every word sent by the LORD, and Azariah, Johanan, and the arrogant men answer with a charge of conspiracy: Baruch, they say, is trying to hand them over to the Chaldeans. Johanan and the commanders then disobey the command to remain in Judah, gathering the whole remnant—men, women, children, the king’s daughters, Jeremiah, and Baruch—and taking them into Egypt. A refusal to go becomes a very well-organised expedition to go, reaching as far as Tahpanhes.
Stones beneath Pharaoh’s palacevv. 8–13
At Tahpanhes, the word of the LORD comes to Jeremiah with an architectural instruction of unusual precision: large stones are to be buried in the clay of the brick pavement at Pharaoh’s palace entrance. Over those stones, Nebuchadnezzar’s throne and royal pavilion will one day stand. The prophecy then spreads outward in every direction—death, captivity, sword, burning temples, captured gods, and Nebuchadnezzar wrapping himself in Egypt like a shepherd in his garment. The sacred pillars at the temple of the sun will not escape the general demolition.

Jer 43:1When Jeremiah had finished telling all the people all the words of the LORD their God—everything that the LORD had sent him to say—
Jer 43:2Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, “You are lying! The LORD our God has not sent you to say, ‘You must not go to Egypt to reside there.’
Jer 43:3Rather, Baruch son of Neriah is inciting you against us to deliver us into the hands of the Chaldeans, so that they may put us to death or exile us to Babylon!”
Jer 43:4So Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces disobeyed the command of the LORD to stay in the land of Judah.
Jer 43:5Instead, Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces took the whole remnant of Judah, those who had returned to the land of Judah from all the nations to which they had been scattered,
Jer 43:6the men, the women, the children, the king’s daughters, and everyone whom Nebuzaradan captain of the guard had allowed to remain with Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, as well as Jeremiah the prophet and Baruch son of Neriah.
Jer 43:7So they entered the land of Egypt because they did not obey the voice of the LORD, and they went as far as Tahpanhes.
Jer 43:8Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah at Tahpanhes:
Jer 43:9“In the sight of the Jews, pick up some large stones and bury them in the clay of the brick pavement at the entrance to Pharaoh’s palace at Tahpanhes.
Jer 43:10Then tell them that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I will send for My servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will set his throne over these stones that I have embedded, and he will spread his royal pavilion over them.
Jer 43:11He will come and strike down the land of Egypt, bringing death to those destined for death, captivity to those destined for captivity, and the sword to those destined for the sword.
Jer 43:12I will kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Egypt, and Nebuchadnezzar will burn those temples and take their gods as captives. So he will wrap himself with the land of Egypt as a shepherd wraps himself in his garment, and he will depart from there unscathed.
Jer 43:13He will demolish the sacred pillars of the temple of the sun in the land of Egypt, and he will burn down the temples of the gods of Egypt.’”

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.
Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
