Description

Achzib in the text

In the words of STEPBible TIPNR:

Achzib, also known as Chezib or Cozeba, was a town located in the Shephelah (foothills) region of Judah (Joshua 15:44). It is first mentioned in Genesis 38:5 as the place where Judah's son Shelah was born. The town is later listed in the genealogies of Judah (1Ch.4.22).

In Micah 1:14, Achzib is mentioned in a prophetic oracle of judgment against Judah, where it is described as a deception to the kings of Israel, possibly implying that the town would fail to provide the expected support or loyalty. The exact location of Achzib is debated, but it is generally identified with the ruins of Tel el-Beida, about 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Beit Gubrin (Eleutheropolis) in the Shephelah.

Relations

Direct connections

Every entity the graph places in a stated relation with this one, grouped by the kind of link. Each relation is authored once and its inverse derived, so both ends always agree. Rows marked “registry” come from the identity spine rather than from a verse, and a row marked “which bearer is the source’s decision” is one where the name could have meant more than one person. The last group is not a relation at all — it counts the events two entities stand in together.

4 verses across 4 of 66 books; 62 write the name nowhere. Named in Genesis (1), Joshua (1), 1 Chronicles (1) and Micah (1).

Achzib is named in 4 verses — occurrences of the name in the Hebrew or Greek, counted in the versification of the Berean Standard Bible (v5.7). Every book of the corpus is drawn, its width its share of the 1,189 chapters. 62 of the 66 books never write it. A verse that tells of this subject without writing the name is not counted here.
