The chapter

What happens here

Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.

The Thessalonians welcome the message with the joy of the Holy Spirit while suffering greatly; gladness and pain sit side by side, with neither giving the other an explanation.

A greeting with a sturdy middlevv. 1–5

Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy address the Thessalonian church with grace, peace, and an astonishingly full remembrance: faith is working, love is labouring, and hope is enduring. The gospel arrived not merely as words but with power, the Holy Spirit, and great conviction, while its messengers lived among them for their sake.

Joy under pressure, faith on tourvv. 6–10

The Thessalonians imitate Paul, Silvanus, and the Lord by receiving the message joyfully in the midst of great suffering. Their example and the sound of the Lord's message travel through Macedonia and Achaia, until there is scarcely anything left to report. The welcome becomes a turning: from idols to the living and true God, and onward to the awaited Son from heaven, Jesus, raised from the dead and named as deliverer from the coming wrath.

Who else the chapter reaches

Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.

Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.

Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
