The chapter
What happens here
Atlas's own reading, written from this chapter and nothing else, and published only once a person has approved it. Each scene names the verses it covers; the names inside it link to the people and places they name.
The women are told to announce that Jesus has risen, and then the chapter says they tell no one; later, the announcement is made, and nobody believes it.
The silent reportvv. 1–8
After the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome buy spices and go to the tomb at sunrise. Their practical difficulty is a very large stone; their larger surprise is that it has already been rolled away. Inside, a young man in white tells them that Jesus the Nazarene has risen and sends them to tell the disciples and Peter that he is going ahead into Galilee. The women run away trembling and bewildered, and the chapter gives their first response to this excellent instruction with an admirably stark sentence: they say nothing to anyone.
Appearances, disbelief, and a remarkably hazardous listvv. 9–20
Jesus appears first to Mary Magdalene, who reports it to the mourners; they do not believe her. He then appears in another form to two others walking in the country, and their report fares no better. At last he appears to the Eleven during a meal, where the plates are interrupted by a rebuke for unbelief and hardness of heart. He sends them into all the world to preach, promising signs that range from new tongues to laying hands on the sick—and, rather unexpectedly, handling snakes and drinking deadly poison. Then Jesus is taken up into heaven, while the Eleven go out preaching everywhere and the Lord works through them.

Mark 16:1When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so they could go and anoint the body of Jesus.
Mark 16:2Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they went to the tomb.
Mark 16:3They were asking one another, “Who will roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb?”
Mark 16:4But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, even though it was extremely large.
Mark 16:5When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
Mark 16:6But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here! See the place where they put Him.
Mark 16:7But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him, just as He told you.’”
Mark 16:8So the women left the tomb and ran away, trembling and bewildered. And in their fear they did not say a word to anyone.
Mark 16:9Early on the first day of the week, after Jesus had risen, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had driven out seven demons.
Mark 16:10She went and told those who had been with Him, who were mourning and weeping.
Mark 16:11And when they heard that Jesus was alive and she had seen Him, they did not believe it.
Mark 16:12After this, Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them as they walked along in the country.
Mark 16:13And they went back and reported it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.
Mark 16:14Later, as they were eating, Jesus appeared to the Eleven and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.
Mark 16:15And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
Mark 16:18they will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be made well.”
Mark 16:19After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
Mark 16:20And they went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked through them, confirming His word by the signs that accompanied it.

Who else the chapter reaches
Names written in the English are linked in the text above. These are the ones that are not: an entity the Hebrew or Greek names under a spelling the translation does not use, or one reached only by an assertion about a verse of this chapter.
Named in the Hebrew or Greek somewhere in this chapter, under a form the English renders differently — the registry's Ludim against the translation's Ludites — so there is no word in the sentence to hang the link on.
Reached by an assertion Atlas extracted from a verse of this chapter rather than by a name written in it — a pronoun, a title, or a participant the sentence carries without naming. This layer is model-read and measured at 88.6–90.3% precision, and it is kept separate from the names above for that reason.
